This is the first scoop I’ve ever purchased as I’m looking to get into the hobby. I researched quite a bit and decided to go with Royal Manufacturing’s scoop for its unique look and craftsmanship and ridiculously competitive price. You can spend over 100 for a factory cookie cutter that doesn’t even come with a handle or pole. I was worried by the photos the basket might be a little too big, but its perfect, similar to the other scoops they have at 5 inch diameter.(it wasn’t in the description of this particular scoop, so I was worried it was too wide) Very well made, feels nice and sturdy, I appreciate the clean welds and finish that gives it that almost copper look. I havent used it yet but im super happy with my choice out of the box. The threads are well made, no wiggles between the extension and main piece. The basket is very sturdy and I have no doubts it will function without failure. Its not as light as some of the graphite posted scoops im sure, but its well balanced. Im only a little disappointed that the scoop I recieved has a small dent in the basket that I can probably fix myself if I really want to. Its really not that big of a deal, just aesthetic, otherwise this is a beautifully crafted tool that leads me to think i will have it in use for years and years.if it wasn’t for the dent, its art, lol. Ill take it though. The scoop i recieved is almost perfect, but I still would rate 5 stars. Fast delivery, maybe a little expensive, the sticker price is low, and the Quality is High.
